Nah, let's not use the normal speaker. I know...let's use the system beep! Crazy. - Apparently there ARE standby issues in Ubuntu. I can also attest to that; I've had three separate times since the writing of my post that my laptop has failed to successfully come back out of standby. In my case, my screen comes up with my login window, but I can't click or type anything, yet my mouse still moves. Hopefully Gutsy will bring better support. It's based on Ubuntu but includes more codecs, drivers, etc. so that even more stuff "just works." Not to mention it looks fantastic. Watch for a new release after Gutsy is finalized. I'm getting excited about the new release of Ubuntu coming next month ("Gutsy Gibbon") with a bunch of great new features. In other good Linux news, ATI will be open-sourcing and releasing better drivers for their video cards. Hopefully they'll be released with (or soon after) Gutsy. I’ve been enjoying Feisty as well.
