Make a profit!? Off sick people!? How dare you entertain such thoughts, let alone post them in public.

I agree, you’re right. Allowing pre-existing conditions is not a matter of good vs. evil; it’s a matter of economics and economics says no person in their right mind is going to pay for something they’re not using when they can wait to pay for it when they need it.

Hi Aaron, excellent article. I’ve been debating the current healthcare reform with some liberal friends, and I’m glad to hear that somebody understands what insurance really is.

If Pelosicare passes in the senate, Insurance companies will be forced to insure people with pre-existing conditions. This is just my prediction – but if it passes then the insurance companies will no longer be able to make a profit, and they will either have to be bailed out by the government, or the customers will have to switch over to the public option – also included in Pelosicare.

The only end result I can see is the government having control over the entire healthcare system before too long.

I wish that people who want “free” healthcare would just go to Canada, and not try to socialize our health system. I like your idea of reform a lot more than the one congress is fighting for. Hope you can get your insurance issues worked out.
